tvN’s latest hit series Hotel Del Luna’s viewership ratings had dominated the charts across Asia and Yeo Jin Goo was in Singapore for an exclusive Star Tour to meet lucky fans and the press last Monday. Yeo Jin Goo and the rest of the cast had also just returned from a well-deserved celebratory trip to Bangkok for the drama’s immense success.
Did he expect the drama to do so well? Yeo Jin Goo said that he knew about its popularity in Korea, but did not expect it to reach all the way to Asia. “I’m so thankful and happy for the opportunity to meet fans over here (because of this).”

Set back and forth between the afterlife and living world, Yeo Jin Goo thinks that the drama’s appeal was its fantasy genre alongside the interesting story plots of each character in ‘Hotel Del Luna’ - A mysterious hotel which serves the afterlife only.
Apart from discussing and dishing out Behind The Scenes from the drama, Yeo Jin Goo briefly recalled the fond memories he had when he was in Singapore two years ago: “I had lots of fun and good memories when I was at Clarke Quay the last time so I would like to visit it again.” He also planned to relish on his favourite Singapore dish right after his schedule for that day was done. No prizes for guessing what it was... Chilli Crab!
With Gu Chan Seong being afraid of ghosts, everyone was curious if Yeo Jin Goo was just like his character in real life. Surprisingly not!

With Gu Chan Seong being afraid of ghosts, everyone was curious if Yeo Jin Goo was just like his character in real life. Surprisingly not!
He mentioned that if he were to meet a ghost in real life he would be frightened at first, but since a ghost would have previously been a living human once. Thus he would be curious to find out what kind of stories they had to tell. On the contrary, he gets easily frightened by things that appear in front of him suddenly, like bugs.
The actor believes in the afterlife and tries not to waste food. “There is a saying in Korea that if one leaves a lot of food behind, it is considered as wasting food - and after passing on, you might have to finish all those food that you left behind,” he said. He added that he would like to receive a beautiful flower from God Mago too.
Yeo Jin Goo was also asked which character in ‘Hotel Del Luna’ he would want to be if he could for a day. Without hesitation, he named Man Wol - The formidable CEO of Hotel Del Luna played by idol singer-songwriter IU who is able to do everything as she wishes. Maybe not Man Wol’s character per se but a character of similar personality. He thinks that it might be a little challenging but is open to give it a try if the opportunity ever arises.
We were pretty sure drama withdrawal symptoms were strong amongst fans in the room that day and it seemed like the organisers knew too. For the fans who would have most probably finished binge-watching the drama, Yeo Jin Goo was put into character as Gu Chan Seong again for a quick mini-acting game where he had to react to scenarios that were created in relation to the drama’s story plot and its characters.
The charms of Gu Chan Seong could be seen as he served up witty lines and humorous reactions sending the floor into laughter. Did we forget to mention how the whole event was in the perfect setting? It was held at a hotel and he was smartly dressed in a suit befitting of his drama’s character!
Yeo Jin Goo has definitely come a long way, having set foot in the acting industry since he was a young child at only eight years old. The actor and has grown so much, giving the audience many memorable roles and we are curious to see what role he takes on next! Will we see Yeo Jin Goo in Singapore again for another promotional activity then?
