That was the rule that stayed through for everyone that went on ‘No Sleep No FOMO’ as let in by entertainment veteran Paul Foster, the host of this all-new Viu Original series.
‘No Sleep No FOMO’ is a social media-driven reality travelogue featuring popular Asian influencers and stars. To name a few, Benjamin Kheng and Nat Ho from Singapore, Eric Nam, Alexander Lee Eusebio (Xander) and Kevin Woo from Korea and more. Each episode, the stars were tasked with the challenge to complete as many missions as they can within 60 hours without sleep in different countries around the world.

The series premiered its first episode on Friday, 22 March which took place in Malaysia and Singapore, features Eric Nam who shared that the missions were totally unplanned. The series allowed fans to be part of the show through Viu Engage, which saw real-time influence of the missions the stars had to complete through their social media channels.
Crashing a wedding was one of the most memorable missions for Eric together with doing an impromptu stand-up comedy which left him guilt ridden for bad-mouthing his mom. “It was in the name of comedy, I’m sorry mom. I love you so much,” he said.

For Kim Jong Kook who joined Kevin Woo in the Hong Kong episode for ten hours, it was the experience of trying out snake soup for the first time that made it unforgettable. Being someone who eats everything good for health, having to take on the challenge of drinking such a unique soup was weird but surprisingly tasted good as Jong Kook mentions. He went on to recommend that everyone should try it if they can!
On the other hand, Xander hints at some business that happens in the water for his episode in the Philippines. All we will say is that he had to skinny-dip and was warned to move deeper into the waters because of how crystal clear and shallow it was. Xander mentioned that he was scared for his life because he did not know how to swim and worse, he had to do it among a sea of fishes...
Would Eric Nam ever take on a FOMO challenge again? We got the chance to pop this spontaneous question and he was up for it again without hesitation. “But first, I would have to mentally prepare myself a lot more, and train myself.”

And who would he nominate to do it? Amber from f(x) was his top recommendation for a FOMO challenge saying that it will be pretty fun to have her do it. “She is like a fitness warrior and does not say no to ANYTHING. Even if you say she can’t do it, all the more she will do it just to spite you.”
As if all those interesting experiences shared did not make us excited for the premiere of the show already, the launch party had lucky Viu fans up on stage to play some games with the cast across two teams: Team No Sleep comprised of Benjamin Kheng, Eric Nam, Paul Foster and Hana Tam and Team No FOMO – Kim Jong Kook, Xander, Nat Ho and Laureen Uy. Which team do you think won?
Pitted against each other in a series of challenges, the first was a K-Pop Dance Off between both teams and by fans’ choice online. The stars and their team members got a crash course on the signature emoji point dance to TWICE’s hit song, “TT”. Taking turns to show what they learnt to see which team did it better, we sure had a lot of fun seeing the stars bust out those dance moves of theirs!

The mission that followed was a sour affair with both teams having to eat as many lemon slices as they can until the buzzer goes off. A shocker: Fans almost voted for chilli padi as the food item instead.
What is a competition without an intense battle! Leading to a tiebreaker round, the teams had to each a send a representative to compete and see who is able to chug down the most amount of Milo within a given time frame again. The really tough fight kept everyone on the edge of their seats (it did not just end with one round) and Team No Sleep emerged as the final winner!
