The AOMG Follow The Movement Tour hit our shores most recently to the delights of the K-hip-hop and R&B fans of Singapore. Kicking off the month of May with a high note, the concert featured five artistes under its roster – Jay Park, Simon Dominic, Loco, Gray and DJ Pumpkin.

With DJ Pumpkin helming the decks, Loco and Gray opened the show to a spectacular interweave of Hip-Hop and R&B with songs such as RESPECT, Dream Chaser and Summer Night.
Perhaps it’s their flair with words, Gray summarized our sunny island simply while taking a stand effortlessly – “No gum, clean streets, no smoking – but I am no smoker.” – earning encouraging cheers from the audience.
Loco, on the other hand, shared that he had previously came to Singapore, and had visited Outram Park. Regardless of what he was there for, we hope that our simple streets would have provided him with some inspiration for his next album – his good pal Gray, revealed that he will be dropping his new album really soon!
Simon D took the stage amidst fans chanting his name to one of his most iconic songs named after him – Simon, Simon Dominic, Simon D-O-M-I-N-I-C OH OH! He brought on hits such as Money Don’t Lie, Stay Cool, and Comfortable, which definitely showcased his immense talent and sleek rap skills.
The last time Simon D was in Singapore was for the Mnet Asia Music Awards in 2011, but he remembers our little sunny island just as hot. He mentioned that the atmosphere in the concert hall is “slightly awkward” – just like his own family and friends are in front of him and it makes him smile. We are sure, however, that this remark would have put a smile on many of the audience’s faces as well!
He also made remark saying that he would "have to earn a lot of money to come to Singapore”. And just as he was about to say his next word, a fan shouted “MONEY DON’T LIE, MONEY DON’T LIE!” He gave a quick smile and said, “Thank you la, Okay la, MONEY DON’T L(A)IE!” Simon D had a some great transitioning-s during the concert, and we got one word to describe him – SMOOTH!

Jay Park garnered the most cheers as the last performer, crooning everyone with his take on Nothin’ On You. Still proving to be a great dancer, he burst out in short but definitely not simple dance routines while keeping up with his songs – a testament to his years of experience. This is on top of the fact that he was down with a cold, as a result of non-stop work as he had been up for 24 hours before flying to Singapore.
Regardless, we definitely heard no signs of a cold as he flawlessly belt out his hits, such as All I Wanna Do, Mommae, and Me Like Yuh. Leading way ahead of his pack as he recalls this being his 12th or 13th time in Singapore, he shared that Singapore felt a lot like a “home away from home”. We can be sure of that as he repeatedly came down from the stage to hug, shake hands and even take selfies with lucky fans in front. He also gave a shoutout to our ever own Singaporean rapper, Shigga Shay.
Simon D joined him at his last song, Mommae, in a Tiger Beer shirt and continued his many Singlish attempts – including playing a portmanteau with his name by combining his favourite Singaporean food, Laksa, and going, “Lak-Simon D”! Not to mention how he signed off by confessing his love for Tiger Beer as well – “Lak-Simon D! I love Tiger Beer!”

Overall, it was an intimate concert for all who are fans of Korean Hip-Hop. Despite a turnout of only 1500, the fans prove to be no less passionate to their K-POP counterparts. All four of them showed surprise at how loud the fans were when singing along or even rapping with them at their respective segments.
We also enjoyed the budding friendships between the rappers, and how Simon D and Jay Park, as seniors, planned for Loco and Gray to join them on-stage together. AOMG stands for Above Ordinary Music Group, and the concert had definitely proved its mantra.
