With a 3,000-strong crowd, the prestigious 20th Asian Television Awards (ATA) was held on 3 December 2015 at Suntec City Convention Centre. The annual star-studded affair celebrates the region’s best on small screen and honoured outstanding achievements across 40 categories.
Some award winners includes CJ E&M’s “Misaeng” for Best Drama Series, MBC’s “Spinster Diaries” for Best Single Drama or Telemovie, as well as Mediacorp and Channel News Asia for Terrestrial Broadcaster of the Year and Terrestrial Channel of the Year respectively.
Hosted by Allan Wu, Max Loong, Joey Mead King and Stephanie Carrington, this year’s Awards saw more than 1,400 entries from markets across the world, and was opened to the public for the first time ever. The Awards also invited international acts like Swedish boy-band JTR, French-Indonesia singer Anggun, Jeff Chang from Taiwan, and South Korean girl group SECRET.

SECRET captured the audience's attention with their upbeat songs and in-sync dance moves (photo on top). Powerhouse vocalist Anggun performed her hit single, Saviour; and Jeff Chang charmed the crowd with his ballads. JTR, who recently appeared on X-factor Australia, performed Centre of Everywhere. With these international acts as the highlight of the night, the audience was definitely in for a visual treat – making the event a memorable night for all attendees.
