“Wasn’t that funny? It was supposed to be a joke,” said Hwang Chi Yeul whenever he did not get the reaction he wanted.
Always showing appreciation and having a thankful heart towards his fans, the star sent kind regards to those who have made their way to watch him at his concert in Singapore. “It’s due to destiny and fate that we’re meeting again,” he said – leaving fans swooning over his words.

Some of the more noteworthy songs for the night included ‘A Daily Song’, ‘Angle’, ‘Please…’, ‘星星 (Xing Xing)’ and ‘勇敢列车(Yong Gan Lie Che)’, a song composed by Lee Si Song – local songwriter and producer. Hwang Chi Yeul also sang familiar tunes such as ‘You Are My Everything’ and ‘I Miss You’ – OSTs of popular Korean dramas ‘Descendants of the Sun’ and ‘Love in the Moonlight’.
Returning with a better grasp of mandarin, together with his recent chinese album release in China, Hwang Chi Yeul mentioned that he had to constantly ask what the lyrics meant while recording so that he could better convey his feelings. He said that his fans are the reason why is mandarin is getting better.
Hwang Chi Yeul also shared that one way to master a language is to learn jokes – which he constantly showcased when interacting with the audience. He mentioned that the weather in Korea is much hotter than Singapore, and made a joke in mandarin about him “getting smaller” from perspiring so much.
Unlike a conventional concert, <Starry Night> was definitely more intimate as the lovable singer gave recognition to those who have been with him on his journey as a singer. Hwang Chi Yeul took the chance to bring his friends on stage and introduced them – thanking them for joining him in Singapore. He also thanked the event organisers for providing him and his friends with an amazing stay in Singapore.
Besides that, the concert revealed a special segment dedicated for Hwang Chi Yeul’s dancers, featuring each of their solo dance breaks. Possibly the scene-stealer of this segment, one of Hwang Chi Yeul’s male dancers crossdressed and blew the crowd away with his wild performance of Beyonce’s ‘Crazy In Love’.
During one of the VCR breaks, Hwang Chi Yeul was seen taking a lie detector test while answering a couple of questions. Despite his confident answers, the lie detector buzzed many times, causing the star to exclaim that the machine was broken. After the VCR, Hwang Chi Yeul asked fans if they preferred his voice or his abs – much to his ‘dismay’, his fans answered unanimously that they actually preferred his abs. In response, Hwang Chi Yeul lifted up his shirt slightly and said that he has not worked out because he was busy practicing his vocals. He then made another joke about how he was born with a good figure.
The night finished off with the star singing a medley of hit songs like ‘Honey’ , Bang Bang Bang’, and ‘I Love You Forever’ (對你愛不完) to hype up the atmosphere. Hwang Chi Yeul also went down the stage during his encore performance to greet the audience one last time.
Despite being surrounded by passionate fans that wanted to catch the star up close, Hwang Chi Yeul looked out for his fans and made sure that no one got hurt. He continued to remind fans that their safety comes first as he made it back to the main stage – displaying his thoughtful nature in true light.
